I bought this A400 Body #1154 unseen exactly one year ago (2004) from an owner in the USA after only looking at pictures. As I have played with Model A's since 1974 and I think I have a rather big experience in those cars, I thought I could buy it unseen after many expensive telephone calls to the USA and promises from the seller that the car was in "mint" condition. Unfortunately I was completely fooled and found out after the arrival of the car into Sweden. Never the less, after 3 months hard work and a lot of money spent, the car is again a very respectable Model A.
What I did was: Complete restoration of engine, gearbox, driveline, brakes, alignment of doors and hood as well as a new radiator (the old one was a combination of 28/31) new tires and wheels.
The maiden tour next spring will go to Hamar, Norway, which is about 700 kilometers one way from where I live in Stockholm. In Scandinavia we once a year have a big meet only for Model A's. One year we meet in Sweden, one in Denmark and one in Norway. To each meet there usually are some 150 Model A's all together. Next year in Norway I heard that some Model A'ers from MAFCA/USA are going to participate with their cars.
Regards from a devoted Model A-owner and especially the 400-A after having owned a 35A, 35B and 160C.
