We bought our A400 Body #1537 in April 1989 from a man in Sacramento as a well preserved drivable Model A.  We did some slight upgrading on "Able" (named "Able" because he is able to get me there and back!) and have been driving the A ever since.  Our A400 is in the middle of the picture of many Model A's taken on the steps of the California State Capital/Sacramento.  This picture was the cover of the September/October 1991 issue of The Restorer and my A400 is center stage!

Along with our A400 came a big envelope with very interesting historical information and correspondence.  The envelope led me to Bill Miller who owned the car prior to the Sacramento man.  Bill was the man that restored the car in 1951 - it was used as a work car and driven daily between Tracy, California and the Bay Area.  From the information in the envelope Bill had a real task in putting the car in the restored condition it still remains in today.  I have talked with Bill many times and he always reminds me that I set him straight on one of our meetings that the car was mine and did not belong to my husband!  Bill enjoyed the 1991 issue of The Restorer as his old A400 shows up well.  I guess you can tell from my rattling that I truly enjoy our A400.
