During the 1970's Ralph Shepherd of the A400 Group had 100 pair of the ashtrays made. They were all sold within a short time. Do any of you members know if your car has the reproduction ashtrays? They may be indistinquishable from originals. The repros only included the insert box and the face/frame structure. The buyers would have to have the original shells.

Also, Vern Baker of Ohio made some repros and they were VERY good. He sold the dies to Gary Tatro in TX. I believe to date, Gary has done nothing with the dies. I offered to buy them at one time and he couldn't decide. I have since lost the passion as I have ash trays for my cars!

I called Gary to find out where he is with the ashtray project. he told me he has been working on the shell dies and has been having trouble making them work. He tells me he hopes to get them working after the first of the year. If you need to contact him, his address is listed under the resource tab in the hard to find parts.
