Does anybody know a source for top holddown straps, and also the round top rest fiber cushions?
Norseman.
Hello:
Any decent cobbler shop should be able to make up the straps for you. I provided my local cobbler with the metal buckles and dimensions and he made me a beautiful pair of straps. I used the metal pieces from a new pair of LeBaron repro straps and they worked fine.
The top rest fibre cushions were made from some type of a paper composite material. I used heavy durometer rubber rod stock and made up a nice set. I got the rod stock from McMaster-Carr.
Hope this helps,

The original top rest cushions were machined from vulcanized fibre material (red). These can be made by a machinist on a lathe if you can still find the material in 1" thickness.
