Do you have a Briggs-built A400?

As described in newsletter #10, a Briggs body would have a subtle difference in the gas shutoff indent on the firewall, with two creases on the lower side. Briggs body panels may also have a "B" stamped on the back side in various places.

Some years ago the Ford Motor Co. calendar featured Model A's and one month had an A400 described as a Briggs-built model.  We have not been able to trace the car or owner.

I have never seen an A400 identified as a Briggs.  Wouldn't the body number plate be different?

ive never run across a Briggs A400

if there was one, it surely would have a Briggs body tag

I havnt run across a Murray cabriolet

altho i have run across one that was built in Canada

was it stamped in Canada or assembled there ,i dont know

it did have a tag on the floor that it was made for the ford body and motor works

this same question has been brought up on any Victoria's built by Briggs

to date none have surfaced

Phil, have you found any windshiels with brown paint originally inside?

all the ones ive seen are semi gloss black

and thats everything, hinge mounts wiper mount, top, bottom and sides

the only thing chrome is the face

Phil, we own #1611, which is in very unrestored condition.  It has a Briggs firewall and the same aqua paint as the rest of the body underneath the other layers.

We've just moved and the cars are in storage.  As soon as I get access to them I'll let you know.

I've just gotten our car back home and it does not have a Briggs tag.  It does have a Murray tag.  Sorry for the confusion.
