In the January, 1976, issue of the A-400 Group Newsletter on page 6 it states that the window regulators (doors & quarter windows) were cadmium plated. It appears, though, that mine were originally painted black. Does anyone know for sure which is correct or does it matter? Thanks, Jim

The regulators on my original car were painted black. No sign of cadmium anywhere on the regulators.

I have regulators that were cad plated and others that were painted black. Some of he cad plated ones were door regulators and the quarter regulators were black. Bill

Many thanks to both of you. I'll paint all of them black since it appears as though they were originally black. Jim

I have some NOS regulators. Who knows, maybe after market, but.... they are raw steel with cosmolene on them. No painting, no cadmium. However, the cup appears that it could have been lightly plated with something but it's a little shiny. I'm sure Ford would not have nickled it.

I've cleaned mine up and they work perfectly so I won't be needing new ones. I recall, though, that one of our group members somewhere along the line indicated that he needed some. You might look back through some of the earlier discussion topics to see who it might have been. Jim

I don't  have any for sale...just answering the question and adding some credibility that they were NOS. One had the original Ford tag when I bought it at Hershey years ago.
