Cad plating tends to deteriorate with time and if you get a little grease on it it is difficult to clean. How is the best way to protect Cad plating and keep it clean? Thanks

The way I understand it, zinc plating is an acceptable replacement for cad in some cases, its supposed to look the same and i understand that it last longer

It depends on how the zinc plating is done. If it is processed correctly it is very difficult to tell it from Cad Plating. The Judging Standards call for Cad Plating and if the zinc does not appear to be the same as Cad it will not be acceptable. There are still plating shops where we can get it done. I was wondering if it would be a help if we developed a list of shops where we can get plating done. I would be happy to publish this in our A400 Newsletter and to put it in the Resource Section.
