Does anyone have some original woodgrain ? I would like to compare it to the woodgrain on my Town Car. I have 2 questions. First does the grain have verticle yellowish streaks similar to the picture here. Second can someone check with a powerful magnifying glass to see if the grain is made up of real small dots like a newspaper picture (halftones). It would be great if someone could scan an image of the woodgrain on a scanner using high resolution, greater than 1200 dpi. The secon picture shows the halftones that I found on the woodgrain on my Town Car.
Thank You
Bob

The bands of yellowish color simulate the "rays" which appear in quarter-sawn wood, especially oak. Of course the woodgraining in the A400 was made to look like walnut. It was applied by a process very much like lithography, so the halftone appearance when magnified is likely. Most present day woodgrainers use very different methods, but achieve great results.
