Subject: front seat springs

My car was restored when I got it , but I have never been happy with the backrests on the front seats . It looks to me like

the springs are too thick . Most pictures I see of the front seats are much thinner . Are the repro springs the correct

dimensions ?

The repro springs made by Snyder's are very close, although there are subtle differences. If you want to know more, I would suggest that you contact Bill Sturm.

Hi Dan:

Some of the earlier repro backrest springs were indeed quite thick. The original backrest should have a noticeable curve that cradles your back as you sit on the seat. The current repros seem to be better than the older repros, but I haven't actually used them. I always prefer to use the older springs even if it means replacing a coil or two and refinishing them.
