For those of you who may not know, about 5000 model A’s were shipped to Australia between 1928 to 1930. Subsequently the Model A community in Australia is still thriving through 5 State clubs, those being Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria, South Australia and Western Australia. Every second year a club in turn puts on a national Model A meeting where we have around 200 model A’s attend. In 2008 it will be my clubs turn, the Model A Ford Club of New South Wales. We have decided to run the meeting in the country town of Bathurst were each year the V8 supercar race is held on the world renowned Bathurst track. We are certainly looking forward to seeing 200 model A’s take to the Bathurst circuit for a leisurely lap or two. Four years ago, we had 35 Model A’s from the Model A touring club visit and do the trip across Australia from Sydney to the Western Australian meeting. By all reports they had the time of there lives. We have regular visitors from the USA who keep coming back to these meetings. As you know model A folk are the friendliest. I have recently finished restoring my A400 where it will be seen at this meeting. I’d like to invite you all to come on down and share with us in some model A fun.
