The Judging standards do not tell what fasteners were used to secure the rear apron. In Mick Isbell's "Standard Hardware" book under rear fenders it calls for 1/4-20 hex head bolts Cad plated, plane and lock washers unfinished and for Raven finished nuts. There are six screws that hold the top of the apron to the body. Has anyone located where these screws and washers are specificed? What fasteners have you found that have been used to fasten the apron to the body and to the rear fenders?

I also have a second question. The 1930-31 Body Bolt Chart on page 4-9 of the Judging Standards does not call for a bolt in position number 6 on the chart for the A400. This is incorrect because there is a special bracket on the frame at this position. What are the bolts, nuts and washers that you have found that have been uesed it position number six.

Thanks for your help

Hi Bill:

On my car the the top of the apron is attached to cage nuts in the car body by 1/4-28 Round Head Machine Screws. Flat washers and lock washers are in place under the screw heads. On the sides of the apron where it attaches to the fender skirts, I used 1/4-20 bolts and nuts with the appropriate washers. This is what was in place before I restored the car.

My recollection on the body bolt in position #6 is that is was a 5/16-24 of the proper length for the application.

Hope this helps,
