I just received notification that I was an official member of the group.  I want to say this is great website and am really happy that the group didn't fold.

I just took the rear window frame out to replace it.  It seems someone (me) bought too long of screws and dimpled the frame when the top was installed.  I bought an original frame on ebay (of course I paid too much) that was nice and it is polished and ready for installation.  What are the dimensions of the tab that holds the frame when the top is down? I have one but it pulled out the first time I put the top down.

Thanks

I measured the tab in my A400 which was done by Bill Strum. The witdh at the bottom of the rear window frame is 5 1/2 inches. Down 4 inches to the bottom,  the tab which is 2 inches wide. The snap is up from the bottom 0.6 inches. Hope this helps

Thanks for the response.  I have to admit I got a little impatient and went ahead. Mine turned out about the same width but it is only 3.5" long and 2.5" wide at the bottom.  Hmmmm does size make a difference in this case?  Also, it has a Lift-the-dot fastener rather than a snap.  I looked at a picture of one that was used on the deluxe roadster and thought it would be the same and the top boot has the Lift-the-dot along the top of the belt rail.

Anyway, I would take a picture and submit it but I "ain't" that computer smart to figure out how to post a picture.

Thanks again

John

I submitted a copy of the original Ford blueprint of this item to Bill and as time allows it should be available on the website.
