I'm just curious. Why is the rear seat back hinged at the bottom? The only reason I can think of is it might be to store the top boot but there is very little space behind the seat.

I think you're right, Larry. That's where I stored my top boot. It would be a dangerous place to store much else. A hard object might dent the back panel if a heavy passenger forced it backward.
