A friend of mine, Tim O'Brien and fellow Convertible Sedan owner, has seen the mirror arms and other parts I have reproduced in cast bronze or brass, using the lost wax method, for other cars including Model A Ford Town Cars and a 1928 Rolls Royce Ascot. Tim mentioned during a recent conversation that he believes a number of individuals are in need of a very accurate reproduction mirror arm for their Convertible Sedan or Slant Windshield Cabriolet.
Fortunately, I don't need such a mirror bracket, but if it would be helpful to others I may well make a mold and have some cast. My time is free, but the materials and subcontract services (I'll make the mold but I have a sculpture house in New York City involved in the casting process) are not cheap. My guess is that a rough cast (that's a technical term...the actual part is very fine, but unfinished and will require some clean up by hand and plating, etc.) will be in the $100 to $150 range.
If there is enough interest, I'll spend the time and effort to undertake this project. Please post a note on this site indicating your interest, and or send an email message to me at (remove the NOSPAM): NOSPAMjtk6@hotmail.com

Thanks, Tim, for offering to do this for A400 owners.
FYI, in the 1970's Paul Buckhout had some mirror brackets made. He had several extras and sold them for $30 - complete assembly (less glass), plated. A few years later Ron McIntosh had a dozen or so made, and sold the bracket only for $75, I think unplated.
