Does someone know the size (height) of the rest cushion in the bow pocket ment for the 4th bow to lay on when the top is down.

How is the cushion fixed, screwed or glued ???

Thanks in advance for your kind replies.  // Ralph Grill

The rest cushion needs to be a height that makes the folded top irons parallel to the base of the pocket.  So the dimension would be: the height of the centerline of the top bow hinge pin less the height of the metal rest on the rear (metal) bow to the centerline of the bow.

I think the originals were mounted in a recess in the wood, but that piece has ofter been in bad shape on original cars I've seen. The rest cushion was a composition material. On my own car I made the rests out of  3/4" wood doweling.

These rests are important! If the top irons are allowed to rest on the bottom of the pocket, the top fabric can get under the iron and be cut by vibration.

The bow rests on top assembly body bumper (A-402206) and is made from a hard red fibre.  The visible part when installed is 1" in diameter and 3/8" high and has a slight dome on top.  The underneath side of the buuper is 3/4" in diameter and 3/8" long and fits in the hole on the back belt rail corner block.
