To the best of my knowledge this exact part is not available in reproduction form. On my car, I matched a piece of the existing seal to something "close" from a rubber parts supplier. ( www.steelerubber.com) As it doesn't show unless the top is down, function supersedes cosmetics in this case.

Trying to find the rubber item on www.steelrubber.com mentioned by you but without result. Please tell me the part-no. as I need this rubber part for my 400-A.

The exact part is not available as far as I know. On my car, I matched a sample of the original seal to a similar part that Steele had at the time. That was many years ago and I can't be sure of what part I bought or even who I got it from (I think it was Steele). My suggestion is to get a hold of a piece of original seal and than start looking in the various rubber parts catalogs. I'm sure you can find something close like I did.

Thanks for you kind reply but unfortunately I have not an original rubber to look at so I do not know how the rubber should look like.

I am just new to the site so this may be too late.
I have used the following seal for my 1931 68-C Cabriolet's and they fit perfectly. I am sure they will also fit the A-400 and I am gooing to order one for mine.
Part No. 48-7651312 for a 1935/36 Cab. & Conv. Sedan; 1937/40 Conv. Header Bow Seal from Dennis Carpenter Ford Products, 704-786-8139.

Seal, header bow. Replaces factory #48-7651312. Ford Cabriolet & Convertible Sedan.
1935-36: Ford Cabriolet & Convertible;
1937-40: Ford Convertible only.
